Ebay Scams Fraud Seller Knowledge Base

Anyone else get screwed thinking they were buying something from ebay seller but it was really a scam? I got a second chance offer from what looked like an Ebay website. I sent the money and now I think it's a fraud. I really screwed up and sent the money by western union money transfer.
Potential Ebay Scam? I have bought an item off ebay on accident (mistaken for another item) so I am somewhat forced into following through with this one. The seller will has only been a member for 1 month, has had 16 other auctions all for less than $2, will only accept discover or money order/cashiers check. The person has used paypal on all their other acutions until this one (where the price is significantly higher) So i asked them why they won't accept it and they said it's because their personal account has a deposit limit?? a) can a personal bank account have a bank limit? b)what would you do in this case since it blatantly appears to be a scam/fraud?
Why do non- resident victims of internet fraud have no rights to justice in Ohio? A fraudalent ebay seller recently took over $4,000, did not ship the purchased items and will not refund the money. And there is plenty of documentation to prove these charges. Yet, Ohio law enforcement officials will do nothing. Absolutely nothing to bring this fraudalent scam artist to justice. It falls upon the victims (2 in this instance) to travel to Ohio and go to the legal expense of civil litigation to receive any kind of justice. If you live in Ohio, go ahead and scam the out-of-state public all you want. Chances are you will get by with it with no repercussions. My advice to anyone shopping on ebay is Don't Buy From An Ohio Seller! You might get taken and have no recourse for restitution except through your own very great expense!
Ebay Scam, What is Illegal about being a Money Mule/Transfer Agent? I won an Ebay auction. Someone in Romania took over a sellers account and sold electronics that did not exist. The auction instructions told me to send the money to a person (money mule) in Virginia. This person did not know he was a money mule. He got the "job" off the an Internet site that said "work at home". He cashed my auction payment cashiers check and wired the money overseas to the "company" he worked for, per their instructions. I never received the item I won, because it never existed. Basically, the Money Mule laundered the money. I have to file against the Money Mule even though he did not know. He endorsed the cashier's check. If I file a small claims action, what do I write? Money Laundering? Mail Fraud? Internet Fraud? It is a sad deal all around. I will take advice and suggestions too. I lost over $2,000.00. I offered to settle with the money mule for $1,000.00, but he never responded.

And I should add the seller is a business,
OMG! OMG! I SOO NEED YOUR HELP on THIS BUSINESS TRANSACTION, EBAY PAYPAL!? First Off, Sorry for the Caps in the Question. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. I have a lot of office and school supplies (mostly electronics) that I want to sell on Ebay. Problem is I have very little feedback. I'm ID verified and PayPal verified, but the buyer is only protected up to $200. The lot is worth around $3000 the few buyers have showed interest, but tell me that since they are only protected up to $200 dollars they need some kind of assurance that this is legit, before placing such a large order. I do have detailed pictures for each and every Item. I'm not out to scam or fraud anyone. I live in pennsylvania and have a Legit confirmed address. My question is what are some steps I can take to make the transaction secure for both the seller and me, I don't want them to receive the items and then say I never received it. I will provide tracking, insurance, and signature confirmation. Again the buyers want some type of assurance how can I provide that?
I have been receiving emails from a yahoo subscriber for fraudulent practises? Daniel D. <daniel485d@yahoo.com> the above person is pretending to be an ebay seller and has already scammed AU$490.00 from me. Is there any way to confirm this persons authenticity? the following is the first email sent to me: I am the eBay seller of Item number 330042114042.You expressed interest in my item by bidding, however the auction has ended with another eBay member as the high bidder. Because the winner of my auction didn't respond to my emails after winning the auction, I want to issue a second chance offer to you. There are a lot of bidders who bid on the auction for fun and I hope you are serious buyer and we can make a clear deal. If you accept my second chance offer we will be eligible for eBay services associated with a transaction, such as fraud protection. To purchase my item please reply me. P.S. If you are interested i will wait your reply asap. Thank you! daniel485d@yahoo.com
Honest Seller needs help with Paypal Dispute!? I sold a new laptop on ebay. Buyer declined to have the item insured. When he received it he claims that the screen was broken. I dont know if he broke it or USPS broke it. I told buyer that I couldn’t refund his money since he declined to have the item insured. He opened a Paypal Dispute case. It is now day 38. Paypal has decided that I have to refund his money. However, Paypal has not contacted me at all during their investigation. They have not returned my calls or bothered to gather facts from my side. I have a negative balance on my account. My credit card on file expired, so I'm ok there. I didnt scam anyone, I have a good track record with eBay and Paypal. If anything the buyer may be committing fraud, but it seems like paypal already made their decision. What can I do? Any help would be very much appreciate. Thank You.
Am I being reasonable ? I purchased a nokia phone on ebay , for 200 cheaper than what it sells for normally . Suspecting it might be fraud or a scam , I asked my seller to take a picture of the box and send it to my email to prove it is not fake . Do you think this is reasonable
I got scammed with PayPal, what can I do?, PLEASE READ IT!!? i am an unexperienced seller on ebay, i listed an ipod and someone made an instant paypal payment , she didn't bid on the item,so i received an email confirmation, although the payment never went through in my balance, so i asked paypal what to do, and they replied way too late,so i shipped the item to nigeria because "paypal" the fake one, told me to or they would contact authorities,so i did, just to make it short, i never got the payment, and i lost my ipod plus shipping fees, now i claim paypal to refund the value of my ipod and they will not do it, even if it took them way more than 2 or 3 days to answer me, which is the time stated on their website, the buyer is a woman who aparently has nothing to do, is someone whose ebay, paypal and email accounts were hacked and used to scam me,i have tons of information to send to paypal but there's no email address where i can send this info, since this was a fraud there is no record of this transaction in PP, so they wont do anything.

I was Scammed! What lawsuits can i take out and has this happened to anyone else? My husband and I were trying to buy a car off ebay motors and so we saw the car listed on ebay and then emailed the seller about it through ebay mail and then he wrote emails explaining everything about the car and then he took it off ebay because right before we bought it someone put in a high bid so he took it off ebay and then we emailed him and asked if he sold the car or not..and he said that the other buyer backed out at the last minute and so we told him we wanted to buy the car..so he said he was going to start the payment transaction up with ebay again for both our security and then ebay supposedly sent me the regular emails you get when you win the item (the invoice and purchase protection explaination) so then it explained how to send payment which was wire transfer through western union and that ebay was suppose to verify the payment and then contact the seller and he would then ship the car and he wouldnt get the money until we got the car and made sure we wanted it so needless to say he set the whole thing up with the emails and everything and instead of me sending emails to ebay it was going to him he set up a ebay email account not through like yahoo aol verizon it was EBAY@purchase-protection-program.com (which thats one reason i won't suspicious), So after emailing ebay (well i thought it was ebay) i wrote in the email asking about the tracking # for the car because that was explained in the email that after sending the money and ebay verifying it the seller had 3 days to send a tracking # to ebay..well after not recieving a answer back from ebay i started getting worried so i called western union and they said he picked up the $3000 Thursday morning and so after finding that out i went on ebay's website and talked to them live online and asked them about this situation that happended and they told me there is noone i can talk to on the phone myself they do have a fraud team but only the police can talk to them and i have sent over 5 emails to there safety team and there not answering my questions at all they keep writing how to protect myself when buying and telling me not to contact that seller anymore when i tried to explain that he already got the money and i need help on what to do..and they show no concern about this seller that is still a member on there site..and ebay said it's not there fault because it was done outside of ebay even though the emails look exactly like the ones they send out to people after buying..and also the seller said he was transfered to the UK for his job and the car was warehoused in TN which he sent pictures of the car and everything it certainly didn't seem like a scam at the time..when we contacted the british police through email they said they have over 16 different address's like the the address the seller used and they said that my local police would need to get in contact with them if they feel the need too.and we did contact the police and they came and did a police report and collected all emails and documents i had from this whole transaction and they said the FBI might pick this up that was on Friday June 28th ..And today we contacted the FBI and police and were told that we will never get our money back and noone will help us try to track this scam artist down! well right now i currently contacted the seller using a fake email and name and he is trying to do this again and the law enforcement won't even try to stand him up and catch him this is the perfect opportunity! Nomore replys with negative remarks please i just want my question answered
I was defrauded by someone from Craigslist. How can I get my money back? Thanks!? I was buying football tickets for my bf's birthday. I bought from one seller from Craigslist who were willing to sell me tickets for a good deal since he moved to UK. He asked me to send money through Western Union and claimed that Square Trade is the escrow who handles the transaction as a 3rd party. Ended up I found out it was a scam. After I sent him money then he disappeared! Western Union is not responsible for any fraud cuz they only serve as a bank. Squaretrade.com only accepts dispute from Ebay transaction. What can I do to get my money back?? I saw many ppl got trapped by similar situations. There are alot of these on Craigslist. Is there anyway I can get my money back and who should I contact with? Thanks!!
