- I only needed to hear about one! Haven't returned,, ;-)=
- The article is a little bit confusing, to be honest. This sentence, for example: "For example, if you sell an item on Ebay, and receive and email from the wining bidder, in which the buyers is trying to get you to get the information to shipping to Nigeria or some other country, usually an Africa country, in order so that he can send you the money. But, it's not real money" Also, the information it provides is a bit vague. The most common scam ebay sees is in the form of the Fake Money Order/Cashier's Check. But the way that you have it set up, it warns people not to trust ANY money order or cashier's check. This kind of scam usually involves a buyer requesting that the seller receive funds greater than the sale amount, and then the seller is to refund the difference to a third party. It works because a bank must provide funds for a cashier's check immediately, even though it is not processed for up to a week. So your advice to take the check to the bank for verification is a little bit off. Better advice would be to always demand exact payment when dealing with money orders, and wait one week after depositing it to spend the funds or send the item. Also, a bit of advice that might help in identifying scammers is that the messages they send are always in poor grammatical structure and spelling. That should always raise a red flag, and sellers should then demand paypal payment from that type of buyer. Finally, I would throw advice in there that dealing with checks/money orders is by nature risky. Better to only accept payment through paypal, as paypal is easy for most buyers to use and is very reliable. All in all, good information though!
