about buying in ebay?

is it safe buying items or goods in ebay? i want to purchase a laptop and i saw tons of laptops over there, just want to know is it safe will they really deliver the items if i pay them, tnx

1. i wouldn't suggest it from ebay you have no idea what your getting they can say one thing and get another or it could be a scam. really i dont know why people buy things off of ebay they dont work most of the time
2. Pay using Paypal from a seller with very good feedback. If the deal goes badly Paypal will refund your money so you can't really lose. Also request recorded delivery if not offered.
3. bad idea. it may be good, but you will not get the warranty.
4. pay it through paypal,,and make sure its registered post when they post it,,,if it goes wrong,,,paypal will pay your money back,,,,,i have bought 2 laptops of ebay doing the same thing and had no problems,,,,,also check the persons feedback out before purchising,,,,what cooments that others have left for that person....
5. Yes, I think it is safe if you get to "know" your seller and do some research on what you are buying (not just a last minute decision). I purchased an HP NC6000 Laptop and a Sony Monitor from an ebay business from this ebay store (I still watch their store because my friend wants a laptop now): http://stores.ebay.com/IT-bySMART What I looked for in the seller was their description of the item to make sure it was detailed and not just "your buying this laptop" and the sellers feedback and length of time on ebay. This seller had 100% positive feedback and their feedback breakdown (detailed) was all higher than 4.5% - to see their feedback click on the number beside their user ID on the left you will see the detailed seller rating. My laptop still had a few months of a warranty left on it from HP and I found out that this was a leased laptop to a corporation - so it was a business laptop. I did some digging and calling around and found out that business laptops go through more rigorous testing than laptops you can buy at best buy or walmart and are made to last a bit longer. I think i figured out new it would have been around $1400.00 - so getting it after 2 years for around $300 was a great deal! Oh yeah, they shipped the next day (after I paid) and I had it in under 5 days! It was a great experieince. Well I am not sure this helped you but good luck!
