Remoting in from home to work?
Hi there, how can i log in to work and use the directories etc at work? I have XP home edition on my home PC and work is running xp Pro & SBS 2003. On my work laptop(which i sometimes bring home) i have a icon that logons on to my work server like i am at the office( icon is called: connect to scall business server), but how can i get my home PC set up like this. I have tried using the icon from my lap top but cant as i its not on the local domain. IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS GREATLY RECEIVED VPN does not work as we have 2 firewalls via routers

- What you are going to need is what they call a VPN talk to your IT dept at work they probably already have it setup edit: VPN will work you just have to get the proper equipment or an IT dept with the proper training. Every firewall is capable of accepting certain requests and VPN is near the top One of the bigger firewall security devices I deal with is a Cisco Pix. Basically people use it just for the security and VPN capabilities. On router device firewalls are the least secure Also if it helps the VPN ports that need to be opened in the firewalls are Port 1723 and 46 or 47
