Walking home from work and seen foxes?
Hey my Dad was walking home from work at night (We live close to his workplace) and heard something moving so turn the flash light to see what was making the noise and seen a pair of foxes. One ran in the woods and the other ran toward Dad. Well jump in the air and the fox ran in between his legs and keep on running toward the other side of the woods. Can anyone tell me why this happen please?

- the fox panicked and tried to get away. It is very true that they are far more scared of us than we are of them. I see foxes, opossums, raccoons and all kinds of stuff when I walk my dogs at night. I just leave them alone and let them mind their business, and they leave me alone. Kind of a mutual respect. Most small animals like tat wont attack a person or pet unless they are cornered and feel they have no option.
- Foxes generally search for food under the cover of dark, although will hunt during the day. They prey on poultry, lambs, and sometimes adult sheep, cats, etc. They are cunning and sly, quick and stealthy. They wont attack a human unless cornered, and if you corner one, clever you, but kill it. They are introduced species.
- My thoughts: They split up to confuse the predator/scary thing (aka you) and one ran right towards you- the light probably blinded him and he didn't know that he was running towards humans- foxes (even captive ones) are very wary around humans.
- Hi Kelly!, It sounds like your dad walked into a pair of foxes sort of out on a date. The female ran into the woods while the male went to protect her. Rest assured they got back together later. It must have been a real kicker for your dad!!!!
