I have been a victim of an ebay scam...please help?

I now no i have been stupid so cut the criticism please? before i satrted selling on ebay i wasnt aware there were scams and frauds around! however two items that i sent to nigeria have not been paid for and i was sent spoof mail and fell for it(but i didnt know of spoof at the time! however i have been in touch with ebay and paypal and they said they will credit my account with the insertion fee and final value fee of the item....what does this mean please, does that mean they give me the money that the items bidded up to?

  1. I believe they will give you the bid and the fee for selling! I never send anything till I get the money!! That's just a good way to insure you get your money!!
  2. insertion fee = cost of the ad final value fee = the percentage of commision they normally charge you from the final selling price Basically they are giving you the costs they normally charge back on your account, any other loss as far as value of the goods, postage etc are still your responsibility
  3. One of the previous answers told you what the insertion fee and final value fees are. It's those that will be credited to your PayPal account. I've been an eBay buyer for years and only deal with people who use PayPal. The sellers I buy from will only ship AFTER they have their money, and I don't blame them. I know that's what they will do, so I'm satisfied. Occasionally I sell on eBay and as a seller, will only ship after I have my money. You are out the merchandise as well as the bid amount. Count your blessings and learn a lesson from this.
