ebay scamming?
so here's the deal. about 2 months ago, I bought a video game on ebay, the seller promises me to send it to me in a week. I waited for 2 weeks, but I still didn't get my game. a few days later I got a message from him saying that he was in a car accident and he was in a hospital. by that time, I had filed a claim with paypal, but then he tells me to close the dispute. I thought he was telling the truth, so I closed it. then I waited 2 more weeks for the package, but it still didn't arrive. turned out that right at that time, the seller had also received many other negative feedbacks. that was when I found out that this guy is lying. and it should be obvious that I couldn't file another claim with paypal. now the seller's account says that he's not a registered seller anymore, but I'm sure that he's still doing his scamming jobs under another name, and I saw it. can anyone tell me how I can get my money back? I would appreciate it. I already contacted paypal AND ebay several times, the first time they both said I should talk to the seller, which won't respond, and the following times they didn't even answer, I don't know why.

- You need to contact PayPal and notify them of the situation and get their guidance on the issue.
- you can file cyber crime against party by submitting all relevant documents with counsel ting ebay help teem
- vahshat, your money is gone UNLESS you paid that PAYPAL with a CREDIT CARD. if you did use a CC, then call your CC provider and file for a CHARGEBACK against the seller for the full cost of the item. if you would like to send me the details (ID) of the old seller and the ID of who you believe to be him under a new ID, i will see what i can do as far as getting him NARUed. BTW, NEVER drop a claim no matter WHAT any seller tells you! keep any claim open until you have the item in your hands!
- You never should have closed that dispute until you received the item. What did he tell you that convinced you that the dispute needed to be closed? Also, you can do a charge back on a seller even if you didn't pay with a Credit Card. I've heard lots of people say that, but it's not true. I know because I am a high volume seller, and have been for a number of years now. You can get your money if the seller doesn't produce a delivery confirmation number, no matter what type of PayPal payment you sent. Except you can't now, because you closed that dispute. You can't reopen a closed dispute. Please remember this for future transactions. If you *know* this same seller is operating under another ID, you need to report that person to eBay. Go to live help if you need to ... there's a link to "live help" on eBay's home page. Explain this person had their account shut down for scamming people and now they're operating under another ID. They're usually very quick to shut them down, I have reported bad buyers with multiple IDs a number of times. Depending on the price of the item you may be able to get the police involved. I'm not sure how that works, you'll have to do some research and find out.
- For the future - check his feedback score before you buy - I'm assuming he had a low one even before all that negative feedback came in - I'm sure that all his other buyers in the same time period will be complaining too - ebay will know he is a scammer so keep contacting them till they answer - also never close a dispute even though in this case I doubt it will help - even if a person was in a car accident you could have said politely you were sorry and that would you close the dispute as soon as he was well enough to send you the item
