- Brand names sell best. Bulk lots get attention. (Putting lots of similar items together.) Shoppers on Ebay are looking for a specific item -which they can't find anywhere else or they are looking for a great deal. Make great deals! By combining items. By finding hard to find items. Or by offering dirt cheap prices. Be careful of your time. Make sure you are doing enough, listing enough, to make it worth your time. Most successful powersellers are listing thousands of items a week in a niche. This is done by auto listing services. Also pay attention to shipping. Get it wrong and it's money out of your pocket. Good Luck.
- Have good products and good deals that are well below retail price.
- You might want to take a look at http://www.bestauctionguideonline.com before you start to sell something. You should be able to get some valuable tips there. I have learnt some tricks from them.
- If you are just selling a few stuff just to get ride of them, then eBay is the place but if you are looking to established a business for the long term you better off opening your own web store. I said this because you will spend 3 to 5 years building your business on Ebay then something may happen causing 20 customer to received package later, then you received 20 negative feedback, then you get banned from ebay. My point is, dont waste time building a business on ebay, just start your own yahoo store and at the same time sell on eBay, Amazon, iOffer, Ubid.com to gain exposure and visibility for your webstore and also build your customer base. Remember that eBay and other marketplace is not your site, anything can happen to cause you business on these marketplace to locked down. Its better to just start your own web site, no one can shut you down.
- Designer clothing tends to sell very well. I would look at other people's auctions to see what brands are selling the most. Another good idea is to go to the mall to see what the most popular brands are and their prices. If you are looking to purchase clothing wholesale, there is a free list of wholesalers at http://www.wholesalerlist.webalias.com
- Always show a photo in the gallery. I pass right by items while browsing if I can't see the photo. With clothes, tell as much about them as possible. Even measure the length, accross the chest, etc. I have bought toddler clothes on ebay and preferred to buy clothes with measurements and not just 3T or 4T. You know how different companies run larger or smaller. If you need any help, I'm more than happy to answer future questions. ret340 at yahoo dot com

- Hi i have been selling on ebay for almost 4 years now that is my job and I do pretty well at it. Its addicting though :) Always put pictures of your items, your item really won;t sell without one people want to know what they are buying. If your selling clothes put the measurements on there, b/c if you dont you will get tons of questions asking for them. Don't overcharge on shipping. Thats a biggie if your selling a pair of jeans for $10 and have shipping set at like $10 or $12 its not going to sell that well a pair of jeans can be shipping flat rate for $4.60 people are more likely to buy them if shipping is low.
