I have received a few e-mails claiming to be from e-bay. I do have an account with them. The e-mail usually has the same message stating something like, "It seems like someone is trying to log onto e-bay using your account and blah blah blah and please verify that you are the true owner of this account by logging in". So, you click on this thing and leads you to a so-called e-bay page where you have to enter a lot of personal information like social security number, credit card number, etc. I was like WTF? Why would they need to know all that? So, I got suspicious and didn't enter anything because I'm not comfortable entering personal info over the net. I don't mind entering things like name, address, etc. but definitely not my SS# or credit card #. Another scam I got was supposedly from the IRS stating that after some calculations, I was due a certain amount of refund. I didn't fall for that because why would the IRS send it through e-mail? Please share your experiences.
