Ebay business...?
I've heard of people actually running business through Ebay, selling stuff from home--I want to do that selling candles, jewlery, etc. Does anyone know how to set that up, or how it works?

- it can be tricky but very profitable. just do your research on exactly how it works. the basic idea is that you purchase stuff at a discount cost and resell it to make a profit. I have some info on my blog if you want to check it out for inspiration or research.
- You can make a lot on eBay. Go on eBay and see what items similar to yours are going for so that you have an idea of what to ask or if what you are wanting for your items you will even get. Then you need to set up an eBay acct. And you will want to set up a PayPal acct so that people can pay you. I've been an eBayer for about 8 years now. It can be lots of fun. I love it!!
- Yeah, I have seen people do it. Make sure you know the laws in your state. For instance, right now...you don't have to charge tax on eBay items in many places unless you live in the same state as the buyer...then you better be charging sales tax. Also do your homework on how much it will cost to ship stuff. Make sure you get a fair price for shipping and all. You can use the book eBay for Dummies, it is informative. Also be aware, that there is legislation up (if it passes) then you will have to charge sales tax. You also have to claim proceeds from eBay on your taxes. Also make sure you not only check out the federal laws but, the state laws as well because they vary from state to state. Just make sure to do all your research.
- I know quite a few sellers on Ebay that I buy from frequently who do this on a full-time basis. I personally think you should have no problem selling your candles! Click on this site which will give you the info on selling on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/education/selling.html Find out what mailing service will give you the best shipping rates and also look into where you can get your packaging supplies (I know that some sellers get their boxes free from USPS or from grocery stores. Some sellers get their packaging supplies by shredding their newspapers or old magazines or go to the dollar store). Good luck to you and have fun!
