  7. I personally think that working from home would be ideal for "everybody", especially parents. However, you need to be very careful looking for work-at-home jobs on the internet. Since lots of folks will be reading this question, here's a short list of things to consider when considering any work at home opp you find on the internet : - DON'T pay in advance for any sort of registration, membership or processing fee for whatever reason. You are looking to be PAID to work at home. You should not have to PAY to work for anyone. - When you find an "opportunity", practise due dilligence and scour the Internet (chat boards, forums, review sites) for any mention of this opportunity being a scam. To do this, just type the name of the opp and add the word "scam". If you find any entries that say this is a scam it's wise to follow through and investigate further. - Contact anyone who has dealt with the company offering the opportunity. You need to be very careful when doing this simply because scammers use fake names and contact details knowing very well that folks might call to check up on the legitimacy of their company. - Make sure the company has an address and contact number. You might not be able to visit them, but you can call them. Ask them lots of questions. Clear your doubts. If you have the slightest doubt that they are above board, then do further checking. Phew... now that I've gotten that out and done the responsible thing, I'll put on my "entrepreneur" hat and say to you that NOT all opportunities are scams. There ARE lots of legitimate work at home opportunities. However, I'd like to caution you to NOT jump onto any money-making bandwagon JUST because others are saying it's a sure thing. Like any other job or business, the secret to working at home long term is to find a niche that matches your skills, abilities and passion. Work at a job or business that you are passionate about will be like being paid to play everyday... work at something that you dislike (no interest in) simple for the money will be like a daily trip to hell. You might find a couple of ideas at this website to job your entrepreneurial spirit. http://www.positivemoneyideas.com They're real, practical ideas that can be turned into a full-fledged business. Just do your homework before you jump into anything.... All the best! Andrew

  10. Depending on your background, you could consider medical transcription, coding or billing. I was a medical transcriptionist working from home. Many transcriptionists get their training through a course of study while others carry their medical terminology knowledge with them from other health related fields. You would need to get the terminology down, and then get started. Many companies want experience so there's a catch-22. However, doctors and hospitals may be hiring, and after a time you can work from home as many transcriptionists do. There's some excellent information for anyone considering a career in this field in the website listed below. No affiliation with any school or products, just good info, including real job listings.
