  1. stay clear legit or not stay clear from Nigeria
  2. Dont do it! Scams are rife in Nigeria, you'll be sorry.
  3. Don't do it! The payment goes through, you ship the item, then theypull the payment. You have no money and no camcorder! This is why so many sellers put on their listing 'will not ship to nigeria'
  4. I personally wouldn't sell there as there seem to be loads of scams. Don't risk it.
  5. dunno but you've got paypal protect.. make sure you send via special delivery. its more to pay but you get insurance and proof of sending. Tho because it's abroad it's difficult. chances are. it won't be a scam
  6. make sure the cash is in pay pal before you ship it.
  7. its ok to ship there as long as you dont mind getting paid in chickens
  8. Have him pay you on PayPal and then withdraw all the money in your PayPal account. Also, make sure you send it certified or insured.....find out from the P.O. how to send it so you know it was delivered. Probably the next thing is that the bidder will say he never received the camcorder and demand a refund. Be careful with these Nigerians! I've heard lots of bad stories about foreign buyers and cheating the unsuspecting honest Ebay seller.
  9. personally i wouldnt send anything to nigeria thru ebay, heard so many stories about scamming on ebay with nigerian customers.
  10. safe - that is unlikely
  11. its a scam.....dont send a thing....
  12. given the exchange rate, and the shipping costs, can you think of a single reason why a legitimate NIgerian buyer would purchase your camera? I can't. Avoid.
  13. look at the bidders history if they are new or low I would stay clear. Even if they pay through pay pal they can claim the item was never sent and get their money back. I wouldn't do it either.
  14. hi i wouldnt send it, too many scams going on.
  15. They nearly ruined an auction for me. Luckily e-bay stepped in and sorted it. Avoid like the plague.
  16. email ebay! but before you do that, sign into paypal.see if a payment has been made....if not report a spoof email.then tell ebay!
  17. as long as they don't request that they send you more money then what they bidded for and the shipping and handling. and do western union or money gram or paypal. dont mess with a check. and dont send anything till u get actual cash in hand. that way u wont be out of cash and product. but normally i dont deal with that country on ebay at all.
  18. No I am a UPS driver and handle Ebay questions on a delivery end regularly. I have many customers who ship and recieve merchandise purchased on Ebay. Simply put when in doubt don't do it. You can verify the quality of the buyer, but in this case, sorry Nigeria, until they get a handle on their scams don't trust them.
  19. Say bye bye to your camcorder and any hope of getting any payment.
  20. I am willing to bet my entire fortune that you are being conned. Expect various fake emails, apparently from 'Paypal' asking you to ship the item in order to receive payment. The scamster will reproduce a Paypal logo, etc. but it will all look sh*t, with various spelling and English mistakes. Basically, they want you to send it before they pay you. All wrong. 1. Paypal are not concerned with the item, they are there to transact funds. They do not involve themselves in you shipping your items. 2. In an eBay transaction, you receive funds BEFORE you send the item Selling electrical goods such as phones, cameras etc. on eBAY is a bad idea. I've known several people who tried, and they ended up receiving all sorts of crap from Nigeria saying 'My uncle in the USA awaits your item, much respectful you are and I am most trusting that you will ship the item' etc. Thing is, there's nothing to worry about if you just ignore them, but it is annoying when you're just trying to sell stuff to have your bids ruined by really, really bad scam artists. They have no intention of paying you. So, as long as you keep hold of your item, the Nigerian fools have failed.
  21. no...don't go near it. Report the buyer to ebay and list your item with them as unsold due to fraudulent activity. Anyone who goes through Nigeria is dodgy...no offence...but they are. You'd simply loose your camcorder and money if you went ahead with the sale.
  22. no problem just make sure the money is in your paypal account then send the goods.once it is in your account they cannot get it back
  23. Hi first off declined the payment if you have to make up a lie and say its broken beyond repair, most all keep your email address secret from him if you do get emails from him deleat them do not open them, You not know how close you are to being scammed if eccept payment he will know more about than you could imagine and ebay/paypal will not give a toss. heres a question for you when the battery goes flat on your camcorder how would he recharge it as their voltage is not the same as ours?. Next everyday for few months? check your paypal account and if you opened you account with a credit or bank card check that too. Theres a few of us on the 419ers that have made it a hobby of ours to wind the scammers up, i`ll give you link to one of the funny/good ones below
