  3. I have always had good luck buying on ebay. I bought a hand carved bowling ball case. And a bunch of Star Wars figures. I even bought some lights for my boyfriend's beach cruiser.
  4. Usually on eBay you buy something nice and cheap, and most of the stuff is used but I never had problems with all the used stuff I bought on eBay. Selling, though, can be a major loss but I guess you won't get much more than that outside anyway. Cause I sold my Xbox and games that were worth over 500 bucks and I sold all that for 150, with only 1 bid, meaning people weren't even willing to buy it for 150. This is when the Xbox 360 first came out. So I think it's a good place to buy but not to sell.
  5. i bought a 60 dollar purse for 20 bucks =)
  6. I bought a $5 Dooney purse and sold it for over $60. I bought a porcelain black panther for a dollar and sold it for $40. I got a Beatles album for a dollar and have yet to sell it. I got a newspaper when George 'won' the election, and the whole scam broke...and no one knew if he was pres....I got it for .35 cents and sold it for $50. lol
  7. Many years ago i sold cigars that I got at a postal auction. I made a killing with them
  8. i've been selling on e-bay since mid 2004 no negative feedback yet honest!!!!!!!!! i bought a comic book around 2001 or 2002 for about 4 quid sold it for 40 pounds last year http://my.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbay&gbh=1
  9. I paid way too much for a Star Wars storm trooper for my husband once, but then again I let his friend do the bidding for me. I have recently purchased Dr. Franks stuff for less than tv ad and it arrived quicker with no shipping and handling charges.
  10. I used to sell pretty heavily during early 2000. I remember once I bought this stupid electronic bible from RadioShack for like 7 bucks, but it was new AND it was a bible. I sold that sucker for like a 100 bucks. A nice take. I dealt in all sorts of crap; coins, sports memorabilia, designer clothes, shoes, the list is extensive. I haven't sold stuff in years, but very soon I'll be opening my case mod store there. I'm definately looking forward to that. I still purchase tons of crap though, all the time. I think in the 7, almost 8 years I've been part of that community, I've had 2, maybe 3 headaches with sellers out of almost 400 transactions, not bad at all. You just have to get a good gauge of who you're dealing with, that's all, but even then you might miss one or two.
  11. I've had both good and bad. The best was last year I bought four pair of Gap jeans for my then one year old son. The jeans looked brand new and I got all four pair for $21.00 and that included shipping. If I would have bought them at the store they would have cost me at least $100.00. Last week I sold five pair of Gap jeans of my daughters and made $75.00. I bought them used off of eBay last year so I thought I did good and I sold a pair of shoes for $30.00. Now the bad side- I too have sold items and never received the money, so they never got their item of course but it is aggravating. I sold some jeans to a lady in Canada back in May and she never paid, then she emailed me in July and wanted to know if she could pay for them now. Ha Ha- I don't think so!! You just never know.
  12. I had a bad experience buying a bicycle off Ebay. I asked questions and looked at photo's and the bike seemed fine. The photo's were good although not the best quality. I picked the bike up from the sellers house and when he bought the bike around it was totally crap. The wheels were buckled...couldn't see this in the photo's. The handle bars were bent and the bike was just in a totally crap condition not the "fair" condition as was described. When he came to the front with the bike he also had a Doberman dog with him for intimidation. I was really pissed of as I had driven 1 hour to pick the bloody thing up. I told him that I was not going to give him the money and he got angry, told me I was legally obliged to and give him the money NOW. I refused and told him I would get the police if he did anything to me. I agreed to pay the fee's he was charged for listing and selling the item. The dog did look kinda scary! Anyways, I have also had many positive experiences selling and buying on Ebay, but beware if you are going to pick up personally. I made sure a friend was with me waiting in the car just in case. Go ahead and start buying and selling it's actually fun!!!
  13. I routinely pay less for whatever I buy on ebay than I would in a store. I can't remember the last time I bought anything outside of groceries and cleaning supplies at a store. For example, I bought a set of Nike golf irons that sold for $899 at a golf store on ebay for $420. I bought a LG HDTV for under a 1000 bucks. I buy golf apparel anywhere from 30% to 50% less than I would at the store. I bought a brand new pair of Nike running shoes when the first came out in the store for 70 bucks; regular price $150. I bought a brand new driver 140 bucks cheaper than it was selling at the store 2 weeks after it was made available to the public. I don't buy it on ebay if I have to pay full price. My new thing is HD DVD's. I don't pay no more than 20 bucks for those. You look in the stores, they are more than that. Speaking of, I bought my HD DVD player for more than 100 bucks less than what it went for in any store I looked at prior to getting it on ebay. I bought a bluetooth headset for my cell phone for 20 bucks. The secret to ebay is the sellers get stuff in bulk so they can sell it cheap. Most stores sell overstock stuff cheaper than normal. Some electronic stuff is refurbished, but it still has a warranty and it is refurbished to the standards the company sells it new.
