Buying your breast pump off of Ebay??? New or Used?
I believe I've come to the conclusion that using a second hand breast pump (not hospital grade) is unsanitary, so I would not even begin to consider buying a used or even a gently used BP off of Ebay. But, what about buying a new BP from Ebay? Have any of you done that? What was your experience? I'm worried about not having a warrenty if I buy a new BP off of Ebay. I actually bought a Playtex Embrace (new) from Ebay for $180 (I was "saving $40-50). I asked the seller if she'd actually relist the product and if she would give me a refund. She said she would! What do you think?

- Theres nothing wrong with buying a new pump off of ebay, first off if its new its going to be in the box, you will know if its used. Second of all, even a used pump is clean to use. You can sanitize these items just like anything else. Not to mention IF there was any bacteria in the pump, its definitly killed by now. Mom of 4 boys and 23 weeks with number 5 :)
- If you are gonna spend that much I would go ahead and pay the $229 for the medula. Target carries it and it is supposed to be the best. Thats what I am doing this time. I don't know if you are familiar with Medula but they are the same company that makes the hospital grade pumps. This one I am talking about comes with a stylish carrying case that can later be used for other things.
- I wouldn't have any problem buying a used breast pump. The expensive part, the pump itself, doesn't come into contact with any breastmilk. I would just replace everything that would have come in contact with the previous owners milk (the cones and collection containers and valves, etc.), which is cheap to do.
- Don't buy a breast pump unless you have used one before. Chances are it will sit in the cupboard gathering dust whilst you make up baby bottles!
- "I went to walmart and bought a double pump.
- I bought my breast pump off of ebay express, brand spanking new. It came in a box that was shrink wrapped and had the security seal on it still. And it only cost 8.95 plus shipping. I am very pleased.
